About Me

Born and raised in New England. Drove to Alaska in February 2005. This took me 11 days. Love makes you do crazy things. I've been in commercial rock radio for 20 years now starting with WBLM in Portland Maine in 1987 and went from classic rock to alternative in '95 with WCYY. From '05 to '07 I worked at KWHL here in Anchorage and hosted The Metal Meltdown. Last April I decided to hike the Appalachian Trail. This took 6 months and 1 day. Check out my blogs for details. I hope to get back to doing the metal show on K-Whale or at least get back into radio soon. I actually miss the microphone. Lastly, I'm still recovering from the incredible yet tragic 18-1 Patriots season. At least I can rest assured that the Celtics will be in the finals this spring.Online Status Icons

Cryptopsy-The Unspoke King

Hearing Cryptopsy's "Slit Your Guts" in the late '90's for the first time almost made me crap my pants.  I had never heard anything like it before.  The incredible stops and starts.  Th...

Underoath-Survive Kaleidoscope BAD TASTE REVIEW 11

I ran into a stranger recently wearing an Underoath t-shirt and I immediately said, "Cool shirt man!"  He made it clear he was FROM Tampa, Fla. (like Underoath).  During our brief discussion...

Embrace The End-Ley Lines BAD TASTE REVIEW 10

Decided to listen to this cd without reading anything about the band.  Somewhat impressed yet not blown away.  They're kind of like Dillinger Escape Plan meets Black Dahlia Murder and Hatebr...

36 Crazyfists-The Tide And Its Takers BAD TASTE REVIEW 9

Geography can have a big effect even on the jaded.  I wasn't a fan of this band until after living in their home state of Alaska for about six months and this was in '05.  We played (play) s...

Venomous Concept-Poisoned Apple BAD TASTE REVIEW 8

When I think of pink bunnies, I don't normally think about heavy music. (Actually, I don't think about pink bunnies at all except maybe around Easter,...now pink elephants, that's a different story al...

Opeth-The Roundhouse Tapes BAD TASTE REVIEW 7

This one's been out a little while.  I wanted to buy it last year but the budget would not allow.  Now it does.  Money well spent.  I didn't buy the deluxe crap, just the double di...

Stick To Your Guns-Comes From The Heart BAD TASTE REVIEW 6

The Stick To Your Guns story began at an Ignite show at The House Of Blues in Anaheim, Ca.  The band received such a positive response (from a very brutal crowd), that they were quickly snatched ...

Crunchy-Loserville BAD TASTE REVIEW 5

Being a huge fan of Galactic Cowboys, it's hard for me to approach this review with an un-biased opinion.  With that being said, I know I'll never dig Monty Colvin's solo thing as much as The Cow...

Divine Heresy-Bleed The Fifth BAD TASTE REVIEW 4

Speed is the philiosophy.  At least that's the way it appears.  Divine Heresy is Dino Cazarese's first post Fear Factory project and it's obvious he hasn't mellowed in his approach or abando...
