Music is my life, if Im not writing and recording then Im checking out new bands or just listening to some of my favorites. I began to play the guitar at age twelve after several years of toying with my Grandparents instruments. I just havent been able to stop since. Both my Grandma on my Dads side and my Grandpa on my Mothers side played the acoustic guitar. I myself fell in love with the tone of acoustic music from listening to them play in various jams. Most of the music that was played in those meetings was roots/bluegrass. Although Im not a huge fan of these styles in particular Im sure that you can hear hints of these styles in my music. Im just writing what I feel in my heart and mind; if it comes out good Ill record it. I really dont have any formal training other than just practicing a whole lot. I spent several summers hidden in my bedroom just strumming and picking and trying to get a grip on all the different styles that I was absorbing at the time. I write music that people can relate to and touch them in a personal manner. Im not going to put out a song that has no meaning to me because most likely it wont have meaning for someone else either. The concept for the demo that Im recording is Im sitting in the same room as you playing. What you hear is what I sound like, no smoke and mirrors just sit down with a guitar and mic then hit record. The demo is being recorded at S&R Audio in Urbandale, IA and thus far Im super pleased with the work that they have done for me. Im looking forward to getting the demo finished and start playing some shows within the next few months. Ill do my best to keep the site updated with any new information so you know what is going on.
