artists and writers would definitely assuage my thirst for more knowledge about the craft i am into. but it would be great if i will be able to meet people--in all walks of life and people with diverse and various orientation and culture--who would teach and describe to me the other facets of life which i have never seen before.
ROCK MUSIC fuels my soul. i listen to the angsts of ALANIS MORISSETE, the complexity of METALLICA's music, to the simplicity of MATCHBOX 20, to the converging musical style of INCUBUS. i would gladly trade one of my most prized possesions just to see WOLFGANG, BLACK SABBATH, and the SMASHING PUMPKINS live in concert. i am also inspired by RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' musical ingenuity and i would trade my soul just to have the talents of JEWEL, TRACY CHAPMAN, SHERYL CROW and BJORK. i also add the likes of DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, COLDPLAY, GOO GOO DOLLS, U2, and other alternative bands in my list...
the life of a struggling journalist and a peek into a rockstar's world featured in ALMOST FAMOUS are just some of the qualties why this motion picture is the best for me. add FINDING FORRESTER, THE HOURS, THE OTHERS, SIXTH SENSE, CHICAGO, THE GLADIATOR, LOTR, MATRIX, and BAYANING 3rd WORLD to my list, it does't matter if you'll tie in a chair and leave me in the middle of a vast room...as long as there is pile of books left for emergency purposes.
if i'm done with all those movies, you would see me watching MTV, ALIAS, ALLY MCBEAL, and CHARMED in local channels. otherwise, i enjoy spending the rest of my day with the TV switched on to AXN and CARTOON NETWORK.
for a self-confessed non-conformist, i love CLASSICS. i treasure the works of FYODOR DOSTOYEVSKY esp. CRIME AND PUNISHMENT, J.D. SALINGER's CATCHER IN THE RYE, JOHN IRVING's THE WORLD ACCORDING TO GARP, and GABRIEL GARCIA MARQUEZ's ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SOLITUDE. i am inspired from the pieces of life shared by NICK JOAQUIN, VIRGINIA WOOLF, F. SIONIL JOSE, ROLANDO TINIO and others in thri short stories. the complexity of poets like e.e. cummings, sylvia plath, ricardo de ungria, robert frost and other makes me believe that there's bothing wrong with being different...
i never believed that superheroes do exist. but if there's one person who i think is the best superhero for me, it's my mom.
