I'm Jay Wilder. I play guitar and write music. I like to compose in a wide variety of styles, although I try to stay focused on a few for a while. Recently, I've been into working with acoustic instruments and orchestral instruments. Those tracks above are a sampling of what's new. Often I write in the context of Aquahen Music which is is a compositional umbrella that includes Dan Lotito , bass player and composer. We started writing music a long time back when we could honestly barely play - the tapes prove that fact, but it sounded good at the time.
Deciding on the what and how of composition, there's really that same single goal: if it sounds good, it is good! Duke Ellington said that, or something like it, and it's absolutely true. Someone else mentioned that music can be smart without being intellectual - I like that one too. Hope you enjoy the music - Up next will probably be something completely different.
