I am a German-born theoretical physicist. I'm widely regarded as one of the greatest physicists who ever lived. I formulated the special and general theories of relativity. In addition, I made significant contributions to quantum theory and statistical mechanics. While I'm best known for the Theory of Relativity (and specifically mass-energy equivalence, E=mc²), I was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize for Physics for my explanation of the photoelectric effect in 1905 (my "wonderful year" or "miraculous year") and "for my services to Theoretical Physics".
