Recently a friend asked me if I was disappointed in how my life has turned out. She wasn’t putting me down, just wanting to know if I was where I wanted to be in life. I looked at my life for a moment and knew without a doubt that the answer was an adamant no! I am not disappointed in the least. I know I am exactly where God has destined me to be. If you would have asked me this question six years ago my answer would have been very different. I was a widow with a young daughter. Even though I had the Lord, I was very lonely. Kellie and I made a very specific list of what type of husband and dad we desired and we prayed over it every night. What a difference an impromptu meeting made! My best friend introduced me to Terry and we were both instantly smitten! We were engaged three weeks later and married in seven months. Makayla was born nine months and nine days after the wedding (almost a honeymoon baby) and Abby came in 2005. I had taught for seven years but Terry and I came to the conclusion that it would be better for our children (and cheaper) for me to stay at home. God has provided for this decision in miraculous ways. We were able to build a new home in Edmond which is closer to my family, Terry’s work, and our church. Terry has an incredible voice and is the music minister in our church and I am his pianist.
