Nothing but blue skies...

About Me

Procrastinator extraordinaire. Self-admitted control freak. Pessimistic optimist.
You simply MUST check out the peacock porn video from our honeymoon. It's hilarious. Or maybe you just had to be there... Go to "My Videos" to see it.
Six months and still going... the baby blog! http://blueberrybaby.wordpress.com .
Check out my other, sorely neglected blog site at http://blog.quixoticchaotic.com for my archived MS blogs including previous "About Me" sections.

..

My Interests

Creating chaos in the midst of the mundane and order in the face of anarchy. And vice versa on both counts.
Challenging the concept of normalcy at every opportunity. Watching people - how they react to each other, to me, to life, to the unexpected, to the commonplace.

I'd like to meet:

The inventor of sporks.

Music:

My Latest Kick:Classical stations. Good for the baby. Rock 'n' roll makes Blueberry kick me in the cervix.
Music is my happiness. I have something on all the time... at home, in the car, at work, sometimes on my bike... everywhere. Life is better with music. It is truly a universal language.
I am blessed to have been raised in a very musical family. My grandfather always encouraged my talents more than anyone. I sang in competitions at the age of six through high school. I played: piano, clarinet, cello, tenor sax and bassoon. I performed in musicals at school and church. I started singing in the church choir at the age of 10. I was offered voice and instrumental scholarships for college, but I chose another route. I did show choir for a semester before I joined the Navy. I still know how to rock a karaoke scene if you get me a little uninhibited. Hopefully this spring, if I have time, I will be joining a local choir or singing group. I've decided it has been far too long without some musical growth and knowledge in my normal life.
All-Time Favorite Music: Pearl Jam.Rock-n-roll.Grunge.Metal.Alternative. But I will listen to just about anything, even if I'm not an expert on it. R&B. Rap. Jazz. Classical. Pop. Reggae. Country. Celtic. Trance. Name It.

Movies:

Latest Movies I Have Seen on DVD: Took a nap this weekend during "Inconvenient Truth" -- I promise I'll watch it again for real. It's very important material, ya know. Tried to watch "Apocalypto" a couple of weekends ago and discovered that pregnant hormones + violent movies = sobfest. *le sigh* No more action/thriller/a bit of the old ultraviolence for me for a while.
Last Movie I Saw in The Theatre: Jesus. It's been so long, I don't even remember.
Main All-Time Favorite Types: Dark Comedy - because it's funny but disturbing, like me. Psychological thrillers/suspense - I LOVE to be scared. And the usual good action, comedy, etc.
Main All-Time Favorite Flicks: Boondock Saints, Very Bad Things, Rent, Drop Dead Gorgeous, The Butcher Boy, anything by Kevin Smith, Shawshank Redemption, Donnie Darko, Diabolique.

Television:

Shows I Watch Regularly:I don't have time to watch television on a regular basis. And I like it that way.
Things I Like to Watch But Don't Go Out of My Way to Catch: Anything on TLC or Discovery Channel, Cops, CSI, Law & Order.
Guilty Pleasures (When I'm Bored or Sick): I'm a sucker for bad reality t.v.

Books:

Trying to Read: Mostly (surprise) pregnancy & birth books: "Immaculate Deception" is great and Deepak Chopra's enlightened pregnancy book, too. BTW, the "What to Expect" series of books... suck. They're so ridiculous, I stopped reading after the first couple of chapters.

Heroes:

My grandfather. And Wookies... definitely Wookies...
