Biography
With a sound described as 'Thom Yorke meets John Lennon', Tunbridge Wells based Sevenscore deliver a versatile and dynamic rock/pop filled with edginess, creative contrast and though provoking lyrics and melodies.
The band was formed in 2002 by Alfie, Mark and Martin. Following the recording of their album 'Safe and Dry' in 2003, performances have included the Tunbridge Wells Forum, the Grey Lady, Gazastock festival, two consecutive nights at the 'Hop Farm Fireworks Extravaganza' and most recently played a memorable headline at the Local and Live fesival on the Pantiles.
In 2006 Sevensocre was joined by Ollie. Since the song 'Smile' topped radio station kmfm's local music and received airplay for this. Since then the band have recorded an interview and live tracks at the kmfm studios as part of UK Music Week 2007 and received further airplay, including the prime time breakfast and drivetime shows, with their single 'Follow You'.
BBC Radio Kent have also taken a keen interest with the track 'Wrong Place Wrong Time' featuring as demo of the week in July 2007 and 'Follow You' has been played on the drivetime and Introducing shows. In 2008 the band recorded a live session for Kents Unsigned.
Sevenscore have featured in local newspapers with the Courier and Kent Messenger running features in 2007.
Tragically, earlier this year Ollie died. On 13 October the band release the single 'Jelly Roll' and all profits will go to Amnesty International, one of the charities Ollie supported.
