About Me

I'm now a freelance writer and musician but, once upon a time, long, long ago, on a dark and stormy night, in a land far, far away, I decided that enough was enough! After almost two decades in education, I thought I might be entitled to parole at the very least. That was four years ago and thankfully no one has noticed my absence (but there again, I did leave the students a lot of work to be getting on with and my jacket is still on the chair...).

During this time I've worked with lots of organisations involved with education in one way or another. I've also had time to write a few educational books, and articles on subjects I know nothing about eg. golf!

On the music side of things, I've worked with a whole variety of interesting people, playing in a salubrious selection of sticky-floored venues, charity events, outdoor gigs and, when the weather tends toward the cold and miserable, in a studio. If you want to know more please visit: www.petetownsend.co.uk

As you can imagine, with my penchant for using a red pen (not allowed now... deemed too negative!), quite a lot of my work has an education slant. As such, many of my clients are either directly or indirectly concerned with producing resources or training materials for teaching and learning.

I sometimes get mistaken for that other bloke with a similar name, I don’t know why, I can’t explain. But I still have some pictures of Lily, alas Boris is no more, I can see for miles (providing I put my glasses on), the kids are alright, thanks and anyone from my generation should know that this is the real me, I’m not a substitute, I’m a boy who won’t get fooled again.

Enough of all that! I specialise in words and music, sometimes at the same time! If you want to chat about education, wordplay or musical muses, then feel free to get in touch. Keep safe.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:
