Sandbox Bullies
In the fall of 1997-98 the founding members of Sandbox Bullies where Robert Bell(Stringbean), Darrel Landpher(Detox),Woltan Martinez,Robert Todd Anderson(Sick Boy) & Tommy Dube(Smooth). After Learning I Robert Bell was a Guitar player Detox(Nickname for Landpherbecause of being in and out of detox facilitys) approcheched me about forming a band.So we got together and some chemistry seem to spark. So we went forth after deciding on the band name Sandbox Bullies.Over the corse of writing material and personal problems Anderson & Landpher decided to quit, or was M.I.A. Our bass player(Dube) wasn’t making it to practice so we found a replacment in Tommy Helms.The turning point for landpher was when he showed up to preform a Show loaded on herion. After that night Landpher no longer sang in the band we continued but with some line up changes. Our Drummer was also battaling some personal demons too a break up with then wife. So we then lost Drummer(Martinez) and replaced him with Robert Quintaro and Brought back Dube to take over Lead Vocal dutes. We forged on playing shows recording and nomal things. We then lost drummer Quintaro and replaced him with a temporary Drummer from the Cadillac Cats Dave. We then lost Dave and our singer was having personal problems and left the band. So our line up changed yet again and I went on to lead vocals and lead guitar,Tommy helms on bass and we found a Drummer named Chris but he didn’t seem to be on the same page as Us(He went on to Form No Dice).so we found another Drummer in an ad his name was Dan. Then things changed and dan was replaced by Ray(Former jonny chepo Drummer). Just when we thought things would be ok. We took a little break from the band. We reformed and came to find out our bass player had another project he wanted to dedicate his time too,and our drummer was then doing something else also and didn’t have time. So the line up went to a three piece including myself(Robert Bell) Steve Rejon & Jasin Lopez. Then another line up change Steve left and Big Vince on Upright Bass. Jasin soon followed and was replaced by a friend Pumba (or Brian). This line up was fortunit enough to make a live recording we still use today. Our Drummer got offered to Tour Japan with another band(Mad Marge & The stone cutters) So he persued that and the band took a break for a couple years. 2009 upon the reforming of Sandbox Bullies we added another Guitar Player Brian Beamen and Drummer we met at one of our hang outs Kyle Helm and The Psychobilly werewolf himself Moi on Upright Bass. Well needless to say we still werent done changing members Our Drummer Persued playing Drums for Three Bad Jacks and our Upright Player quit @ one of our shows to persue his own project(Graveyard Drifters).So our former drummer gave Us a lead on a new Drmmer Drew Perea.And our former upright bassplayers guitar player Matt Radican(Graveyard Drifters) Shot His Brother our way Scott Radican(Former Dead Sled Demons & Graveyard Drifters) and he’s our current Upright player.And We have played with Numours bands(Blazing Haily,Kill Alen Wrench,Shot to Hell,Boobie Trap,Three bad Jacks,Hillbilly Hellcats,ZOMBIE GHOST TRAIN,Brass Tax,Bucksworth,THE ROCKETS,UNDERCITY KINGS,HOTROD NIGHTMARE,NO DICE,THE AFTERSHOCKS,THE SKUNXS,THE BORDER HOPPIN BOYS,READY FOR VEGAS,The Kracks,THE PEACOCKS,THE HENCHMEN,THE HOWLERS,BLACK ROSE PHANTOMS,LOS INFERNOS,THE WHITE WALLS,THE RIFF RAFFS,DEATH VALLEY DRIFTERS,THE COSMIC CREEPS,The BBQ Kings,Agent Orange. Just to name a few Mixing styles of Punk,Blues,Rock & or Psychobilly or whatever We Feel lke playing (Ska For example) Hopfully soon to finaly be releasing a full Length C.D. Things Seem Pretty Good
