If you haven't already registered to vote, please click on the icon just below, "register to vote" and do so! The more people I get to register, the more of a chance I will have to play at the convention. Make a difference and in so doing, help me win a chance to play. Please tell your friends, too! thanks!Marcy Levy aka, Marcella Detroit: My biggest claim to fame is singing with Eric Clapton for many years, touring, recording and co-writing one of his biggest hits: "Lay Down Sally", and also, "The Core" on his "Slowhand" lp. I was also in a very successful '90's group called "Shakespear's Sister". I was vocally featured on and cowrote our biggest hit, "Stay" that went to number one for 8 weeks in the UK along with Siobhan Fahey, previously with Bananarama and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. Since the split of SS in 1993, I've gone on to do several solo cd's under the name "Marcella Detroit", a name I adopted while in Shakespear's Sister and also appeared on Elton John's "Duets for One" cd, doing the Motown classic, "Ain't Nothin' Like the Real Thing". Check me out @www.marcelladetroit.com. My top 40 UK hit called, "I Believe" from my "Jewel" cd, was recorded by a German artist last year named Joana Zimmer climbing to number 2 in the German national charts. My roots: the blues and soul. I've just finished a blues cd called "The Upside of Bein' Down"... now officially released! buy it at: www.cdbaby.com/marcylevyband. My blues site: www.marcylevyband.com. I'm also working on a more contemporary soul/rock cd which will be born in the near future.
