My husband and I have been married for almost 9 years. We have a daughter, born in Dec 2003, and a son, born in Oct 2005. They are a handful, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!! We are a military family currently stationed in the DC area. But like most military families, we are facing the uncertainty of where we'll be in a year. Such is life.Breast cancer has touched my life in several ways. When I was a little girl, my grandma was diagnosed. She survived. When I was pregnant with my daughter, my mom was diagnosed. Three weeks later, my grandma was diagnosed again. My mom survived, and is currently cancer free. My grandma's had spread to her spine. She will eventually die from it. I also have a second cousin and a great aunt who had breast cancer. After being touched in such a profound way, I can honestly say...get your mammograms...do your self checks...early detection is key to survival!!!
