Here's a look listen...
Live on Sunday Morning at 11 on uStream
I've always been told a "Stream of Consciousness..." and "music that's pushing the edge but comfortably in the middle". One review once said that I might not sell alot of records as my music felt a "bit under the skin and pushed people to feel more than they might like..." - perhaps that is a good thing... .Around 1984 when my musical focus was a bit low as well as artistic confidence after an extremely academic musical education I heard a spark from a random needle drop on a then record from a label called Windham Hill. Unfortunately I didn't get the artist's name at the time and searched for 6 months for what I had heard. From that search however I got an eye opening to a range of artists put together by ironically another influence found in the quest of the first - Michael Hedges and Will Ackerman.Every now and then people will hear Nick Drake in what I do probably because of the range of guitar tunings, meaning changing of the string pitches from the way the guitar is normally tuned. Nick did this alot.Equally I like periods of Dave Matthews and find some parallel in his muse - Richard Thompson, Bruce Cockburn, Peter Case... .Of course modern composers such as Steve Reich and Terry Riley. Love Bill Frisell and David Torn and Robert Fripp.
