About Me

Save the Trail, Inc. is a non-profit organization of concerned citizens in Loudoun County, Fairfax County, and the greater Washington, D.C., area.
There is a proposal under consideration by Dominion Virgina Power to extend power transmission lines from eastern Leesburg to Purcellville, Virgina along the W&OD Trail. These 110-foot-tall steel power towers will require clearcutting an estimated 26,000 trees leaving a barren swath where there is a beautiful tree lined trail today.
The W&OD Trail is one of the few remaining sanctuaries where you can escape the over-development, traffic jams and encroaching sprawl that we live amidst in Northern Virginia. The Trail has been providing us with a wonderful place to walk, run, bike or ride horses in a serene and inspiring environment for 30 years. With your help, it will do so for many years to come. The Trail threads its way through new developments and crosses highways but always returns to the woods where it is meant to be. Please show your support of the trail and not allow its destruction.
