ABOUT ME and ILLGAIN RECORDINGS .....
Back in 1996/7 me and Dj Daneeka started up the duo name "illgain" where we produced heavy dark beats & basslines from da heart for the D&B scene. We got loads of interest with our tunes from such labels like "Renk Records" (M-beat was signed too) and "De-tox" and a couple of yrs later we were good friends with "Future Thinkin". Hitting the D&B scene we eventually started playing on 1 of London's finest D&B stations "Origin 95.2FM" were we smashed out the best tunes of D&B could offer......
A few yrs after that got into Nu skool breakz linking up with "Mr Ben" and the "DJ Stranger" from "Ruud awakening 104.2FM". Started getting lots of interest with my tracks from the likes of "Botchit & Scarper", "Airdog" and a few other labels. We wanted much more out of this scene so me and Daneeka set up "Illgain Recordings". We had a smash hit first single and sold our tune all over the world getting in allsorts of breakz charts!! Our second release took us even futher with the Dj "Annie Nightingale" from radio 1 and "Steve Lamaq" playing our track on their shows!! On the third release I changed the style abit making this tune more commercial and getting big praises from likes of "Orbital" and "Aquasky". Meeting lots of artists and Djs from the Breakz scene we wanted a bad boy remix for our 4th release and got the one and only Dj "Smithmonger" also we had some very special vocals on this track from the lovely "Jaxx" who is 1 of the backing singers from "M-People"!!!
I have taken a break from the label 4 awhile to concentrate on other types of music hitting different music scenes and have recently wrote 3 Alternative/down tempo tracks.
Would like to thank all the support and help illgain got from 1996 to present day.... and good luck with anyone else following their dream!!!
