SHOWSTOPPERS - 'Harlems 5 Star Generals'

About Me

SHOWSTOPPERS. The name alone implies the ability to outperform. Born and raised in the cultural mecca, Harlem, their rise on the Underground hip-hop scene was recently recognized with being nominated and subsequently winning the Best Rap Duo category at the 3rd Annual Underground Music Awards in New York City. The group is comprised of ARTIE BILLS, a street certified rapper/producer and Harlem resident ghostwriter JOHUNTER. Their signature sound is original music (usually no samples) and a vocal chemistry that is definitely evident. The group has been featured on numerous mixtapes such as several Ron G releases, the award winning Street Wars by P Cutta, Kay Slay, DJ Hollywood, DJ V12, etc. They have also been chronicled in Don Diva, Rap Fanatic, 4Korners Newspaper, Streets Mos' magazine, which featured the group and their label as its cover story, as well as on hiphopgame.com, etc. Showstoppers are now at work on their debut commercial release, "Bread and Roses". It will feature production by Stevie J, Mr Collipark and Firestarters (which includes Artie Bills). Showstoppers have been busy on the tour circuit as well as performing at NYC clubs such as Babalu's, Pyramid, Downtime, Gemini's, Remote Lounge and Mission, as well as bigger venue's like the Palace in Upper Manhattan and Hershey Arena in Pennsylvania. Through their own imprint, Rollin Wit It Records, the duo released "Hollyhood Showstoppers" in 2004. The debut was a breath of fresh air for those seeking honest commentary from hip-hop artists who not only live it, but also critique and condemn what others choose to portray as reality in music. The LP featured the song and video "Game Tight". The video earned significant airplay on regional shows after being premiered on the legendary Video Music Box hosted by Ralph McDaniels. They followed that up with the 2005 release of "Operation Takeover which included contributions from a number of industry heavyweights, most notably MA$E on "Do Right". With combined sales approaching twenty thousand units Showstoppers have definitely become major players to watch. STAY TUNED...
