ZeroPing

ZeroPing takes his name from gamers jargon but insists that he has never played a computer game in his life. Born in Denton Texas, he cut his teeth working around the dive-bar music scene before escaping to New York City. There he worked exclusively in Avant-Garde ExperiMENTAL ARTRock and any other genre that allowed him to wear black. Then off to Berlin where he hid out in his electronica club,Sexiland, underground, until he was forcibly removed by city planners. Now he lives in London and he endorses Open Source and Creative Commons ideals because everyone needs a belief.His music is quirky and original, fusing "serious" sound scapes, rock, electronica, and elements of his origins in country music. It is vocal music and instrumentalmusic. He draws his inspiration from folk , noise, and experiences. ZeroPing does not Rawk and never will.Zero's (or Zed as his closest friends refer to him) last and latest release is on the London based label, Incinerate Media. Titled "MAST ERSO FWAR" he grapples with the present state of affairs in the world and speaks frankly in a round about way. The album title is derived from his mangled cover of Dylan's "Masters of War" . The featured track "Assassination Postcard",is a tryptic around home town of Denton and the fall out of the Cold War/JFK culture that influences so much of our life to this day.Contributing to the recording is the legendary BJ Cole on steel guitar (just name the record and he probably has played on it). He does RAWK or should we say he SWINGS. Also Taipei/London musician, prgrammer and thinker, Chun Lee on anything from Max/MSP, PD, to Saw (classically trained of course) and electric violin.
