Tito Lopez Combo

About Me

URBAN SOUL. Tito Lopez Combo.Deeply funky work from the Tito Lopez Combo -- possibly the group's grooviest album to date! The ensemble really have their chops down with this one -- and hit a tight groove that's right up there in a 70s blacksploitation mode, but with some leaner jazz elements as well -- driven strongly by the lead drums of Harbans Srih, and featuring loads of great keyboards, horns, guitar, and even a bit of tabla! There's a bit of vocals this time around -- courtesy of Jimmy Eastwood, who does a great job on the group's cover of "I Can't Stand The Rain" -- but the main groove is instrumental, and done here with a nicely hard edge, on a batch of mostly original material. Titles include "5 Point 6", "Foul Play", "Think Positive", "Shuffle The Cards", "Break It Off Or Work It Out", "Get The Funk", "Northern Delight", and "Don't Tease Me". CD also features a bonus track -- "Mr PCP". Dusty Groove America, Inc.
