I like going to the gym. Love that feeling that I am taking care of myself. It's a hobby, it's entertainment, it's social time and it's good for me! I need to be more consistent, though. I love movies and reading, but usually find myself months behind in my magazines.
I don't entertain much at home, but enjoy dining out with friends.
I have a dog, she's staying with my mom in Portland...I miss her. It's nice to come home to someone who is happy you are there!

Friends are great, they seem to last much longer than mates. Not to fool myself though-I would love to meet someone to date, perhaps "the one". But to be realistic, how about I just find some people interested in being my friend and then maybe something will sneak up on me!
My friends tend to be employed, self-sufficient and appreciate the art of growing in their lives and the journey that endeavor leads us on.
And they are a lot of fun, in myriad ways. I love them!
Music is always on at my house...James Blunt, Indigo Girls, REM, Melissa Etheridge, Cake, Sarah McLachlan that type of stuff. Oh yeah, and I love 80's music!!!!! I like seeing live music in small, intimate venues...
This replaces the need for a TV fix in my life. I probably go once a week, on average. Action, big-budget flicks to chick flicks to art house and indy appeals to me.
Shoot your TV. Reality TV has begun to unravel our society by replacing people's lives and real relationships with discussion of the "real" people they see on TV. It was ok as a novelty, I never really liked it past the Real World and The E! True Hollywood Story-great ways to spend a hung over Sunday...Anyway, what I liked when I was viewing: Queer as Folk, Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, West Wing, Friends, Will & Grace and Frasier.
I think reading is one of the things I love most to do-naturally it has become one of those things I don't make enough time for...but when I find the time: I like Anne Rice; James Patterson, Richard North Patterson, Ridley Pearson, Patricia Cornwell, Carl Hiassen-for starters. Every now and again I will look at one of those not self help, per se, types of books that Oprah or a friend might try to cram down my throat, but I usually don't connect with the subject matter. I have a friend who, I swear, reads every one of them. Always has one around. I just look at him and think, "You weren't all that fucked up, why do you need to read all of these self-improvement books?" Yes, people should strive to improve themselves, but they should also feel like they started out pretty darn good in the first place, right?
Everyday Joes who just go out and quietly make their lives happen daily. My parents, my sister's family, my little bro'. They are the best anyone could ask for!
