Now, the Lord has blessed me with a beautiful wife who loves Him and loves me. And what am I to do with this blessing that God did for me - well, let's go to the bible. Ephesians 5:25-33 says, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church - for we are members of his body. 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' This is a profound mystery - but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself..." This pretty much sums it all up. Now, do not misinterpret me, I'm far from perfect and to be honest, this is not always the easiest thing to do, but everyday is a learning lesson and my heart is to do to my wife as my Lord instructs. Of course I cannot do this on my own, only through Jesus Christ can this be achieved! Naturally speaking, I would like to complete my college education, and get the career i would prefer...BUT, in all reality, those two are the small things - what really matters is the kingdom of God, the things of the Lord - my Father's business! Thus my ultimate and immediate goal is to constantly compound a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, trust in him, focus on him, indwell in him, grow stronger in him, and be led by his holy spirit to do what He commands me to do through God's word! Without these things, nothing else AT ALL matters! (And you say) Amen.
