This is basically a brief description about this group. The name of the group is "742" actually that's the Production company's name that I work under and for. We,re a fresh started company that works in the field of hip hop,R&B,rock,jazz and others. Our company supports several artists so far and wil be looking for more talents in the future, but for right now we're just holding it down the best way we know how. Well first there's Lp that's me I've been rappin and perfoming for about 8-10 years now I've been in a few groups of course and all of them have taught me something new. I'm now mainly a solo artist I still work with other artist but most of my projects will be solo for a while I'm starting my first solo project album and i'm calling it "Me against Me". The reason I chose this name for the album is simple it's because I've learned over the years that only I can stop me no one else I'm my worse critic and basically that I'm responsible for me. I will be working with various artists in process even some of the boys from "742" I will also be experimenting with other cultures and basically mix my style with a little bit of everything. I also Produce I've been making tracks for about 9 years ever since late 1996, and I've been recording them since 1998 lol I started recording on a Yamaha 8-track mini disc recorder which I didn't know much about and still don't lol but I eventually moved towards the digital world full on using pc programs such as Acid pro, Cool Edit, Cubase and then finally Adobe Audition. Now if I go Digital I prefer Mac programs such as Logics 7.0 and Pro Tools. But don't get me wrong I would never pass up a chance to go old school and record on let say studer, or an otari 90 24 track tape machines which sounds great by the way. I also recommend that everyone in hip hop records at least one track on a Neve Vr4 and an SSL G4000 plus. I've gotten so into recording that I went to school for it and now a certified Recording engineer so I'ved worked on a variety or equipments. I do make tracks from scratch no samples I still haven't gotten into sampling all that much there's nothing wrong with it I just haven't gotten into yet. I use my old school equipment that i've started with at least one of them lol my Roland MC 505 groovebox, and now I also use of course my MPC 2000XL.
