The RICHLESS

About Me

Let's see if I can keep this short for now. The RICHLESS were formed by and started by Tommy OBNOXIOUS and Marty Useless. It all began in 1999 (Or earlier) when they discussed forming a band. In 2000 They finally started practicing together with two people who are not in the band anymore and aren't worth discussing by name. However, that bassist was booted when he started booking practices and not showing up until finally not showing up for recording. Tom and Marty saw him drive by on a bike that day. Good riddance. The RICHLESS continued rotating bass players in and out of their lineup and kept playing shows until finally in 2001 they recorded their debut CD. The original drummer ruined those sessions but they stuck with him since he was still showing up for practices. Later on, a few months later or so, he tried to dick the band over by saying he didn't know about any of the shows coming up except for the one that Friday (a couple of days away) and that that was his last show with the band. It was an outright lie. Tom and Jeff (The bassist) gave him the dates which they witnessed him write down in his little book that he always carries. So, instead of playing the show with that drummer Tom kicked his ass out and immediately called Marty up to call Mike Hunt up to play that show. With only one practice under their belts the newly formed lineup of The RICHLESS played their best show (Up until that point) ever. With Mike drumming for them they instantly got a lot better. Mike stayed on in the band and they just continued to improve. Everything went great with the band until May 2003. The RICHLESS were set to record the infamous PBR EP with all four members but Marty flaked and wasn't found at the times of practices. So, come recording time (May 3, 2003, to be exact) Marty was still absent so the band went in and recorded without him any way with Tom doing the majority of the vocals and Jeff singing one. Marty wasn't too happy and quit. Welcome to January 30, 2005. The RICHLESS played as a four piece again with Marty back at the front. Things were good again. Then they were asked to play another show on July 28, 2005. Well, the Jeff didn't want to play it for some unknown reason so the band decided to play one show and only one show with a fill in bassist because their friend Rob was joining the Navy and requested they play one last show for him before he went in. Well, he quit. And for no reason at all since the band didn't even play the show. So, The RICHLESS moved on, but weren't doing much of anything until March 25th, 2006 when Tom, Marty, and Mike showed up at Jeff's house and asked him if he would play one more show. He agreed and the band began playing again that night. The rest of the story will be told with time... (this is the shortened bio. Do you really want to hear the whole thing?)
