About Me

I was born with a genetic disease called cystic fibrosis - CF. Until the age of ten I was a fairly normal kid, but by the time I reached 11 years old the disease had taken its' toll. I was bound to a wheelchair and liquid oxygen due to lack of walking strength. At the age of thirteen I escaped death by having an experimental double-lung transplant at the University of North Carolina. After the transplant in 1992 my life expectancy was raised by only one year, and I was basically just buying a little more time. Everyday I wake up, I beat that life expectancy. It has been almost 15 years since the transplant and, with only minor setback and taking over 180 pills a day of post-op medications, I am doing good. I live in Destin, Florida. All of my friends and family call me SuperCoby because I have beat many odds and never given up.

My Interests

Super C LOVES to meet and talk to new people most of all. I enjoy taking pictures of people doing things or just posing, not nature pics or anything like that. There is also my love for entertainment such as music and movies. I love business and learning how people make money in different ways.

I'd like to meet:

I have met many famous sports figures such as Dean Smith, Troy Aikman, Rolondo Blackman, Josh Monk, and I did meet Morgan Freeman one day. He shook my hand and was nice. I have also met a hand full of rock stars when I would hang out with Micah and the Edgewater Band. I would like to meet Oprah Winfrey, Michel J Fox, and Jennifer Aniston, but I would not say anything to her, I would just look at her for a few hours.

Music:

My kind of music is alternative/ punk. I love bands like Local H, Edgewater, Bowling for Soup, Kid Rock, Green Day, Blink 182, Chilli Peppers, Bush, Pearl Jam and, The Oneders.

Movies:

Office Space, Flech, Christmas Vacation, Jaws, and of course the Superman Movies. I do not like watching sad movies because they make me upset. Plus the movie has to finish itself. I did't just waste 2 hours of my time to make up my own ending. I love comedies, such as Adam Sandler movies and Office Space. I also like watching movies about people that have made a difference in the world.

Television:

My favorite show, which has been on since 1995, is ER. Other shows I like watching are: Lost(even thought I get so mad at it), Nip/Tuck, Scrubs, The Soup, "E" True Hollywood Story, SNL(the 90's cast), Family Ties (old school Michel J. Fox), House, King of the Hill, Grey's Anatomy, and Rob and Big.

Books:

I enjoy autobiographies about people that have made a difference in the world such as pro players or business tycoons. They have made their dreams come true with hard work. People that have made it from rags to riches are people that I look up to. I also like to hear the truth the way it is from realist such as George Carlin. I really should be into health and medical books with everything I have been through, but I feel why read about it when I live it every day.

Heroes:

My heros are my parents and family for doing and giving everything they have to me so that I can live longer. I also love DRS, EMT's, Nurses, and anyone in the medical field that gives there lives to help others. These people are heros.
