Okay here's the Reader's Digest version of my life:Born in Erie, PA, dad in military, moved around a lot. Lived in Kansas, Colorado, Kentucky, New Mexico, back to PA, lived in Erie, Somerset, Butler, moved out west to Phoenix, AZ. Had a pretty good High School experience, did drama, cheer, speech & debate, student council. Wore black most of my senior year cuz I was in morning for my disillusioned soul (I thought that was something then, hee hee hee), not to mention emulating Molly Ringwald's character in Pretty in Pink (I still love thrift store clothes!).Sent myself to college, went to U of A in Tucson. LOVED it! Worked, starved and stuggled trying to keep the balance. Ran out of gas a lot, ate a lot of Top Ramen, took many lovers. Did a ton of community theatre, directed plays, (took some down to Bisbee AZ, as well), did a weekly, live community cable show, was in Comedy Sports and two other improv groups. Had a blast. The company I worked for went out of business and I got a little settlement so with that and the sale of everything I owned, I got a one-way ticket and a Eurorail pass, and back-packed Europe, ate bread and cheese everyday, went to Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Holland, visited my girlfriend in Greece, slepts on floor, roof-tops, beaches, in convents, hotels, pensions and new friend's floors and couches, back-packed and starved some more until I ran out of money, which turned out to be three months later. Wrote, wrote and wrote.Came back to the states, took some photography classes, started writing tons of poetry, got a lot published, (nationally and locally), won some contests, did Poetry Slams, went to Nationals twice, (one in North Carolina, one in SF). Started writing plays, doing some performance art/poetry stuff, started an arts magazine with a circulation of 10,000 called "From the Ashes." All the while working a retail job. Curated art shows, showed and sold some of my own photography. Created and participated in the Women Renegade Poets. Did some more community cable stuff. Experimented, stayed up all night, wrote, and loved.Met a new guy, David, who would become my husband. Discovered swing dancing. Took gobs of lessons. Started a swing magazine called. Swivel:Vintage Living Magazine. Travelled around going to swing camps. Became obsessed with everything 30's-50's. David joined the Navy and got stationed in SD. We moved. We started teaching swing dancing and publishing the mag again. Made tons of friends, had great parties, danced, shopped, collected.Bought a house, had babies. Now, I paint, read, dance, garden, vintage sew, cook and wait for what's next...

I've had this idea for a VINTAGE Girl Scout Troop for a while. Every since we joined, I thought it would be cool to combine two of my loves, or three or four for that matter. Being a Leader lets me ex...

Good Will

The wind is damp with spits of rain, the cars race by sending a spray of dirty cold water dusting her red cotton jacket. Her glasses fog and her eyes sting with the cold. She wants to cry at her stupi...
