Some of you may know me as John Petty and others may know me by my screen name petro62. No matter how you know me thanks for taking the time to come visit my myspace. I was born and raised in Cape Girardeau Missouri. I went to high school at Cape Central High and I also attended college at Southeast Missouri State University where I graduated with a B.S. in Computer and Electrical Technology. I hope to relocate to Chicago in the near future, but for now the highlights of my life are my work on the BML, the podcast, and more importantly the charity work we are doing. In my free time when I am away from work and the computer I am typically riding my mountain bike or relaxing at Buffalo Wild Wings with friends.
I am a big beer enthusiast especially the craft brew sector(microbrew) and I am currently reading up on brewing my own beer. While I do not consider myself a true “Hop Head†I do enjoy trying the extremely hopped beers of the world. Some of my favorite brands to drink are Sierra Nevada , Dogfish Head , Goose Island , Rockbottom Brewery , Samuel Adams(my introduction to microbrew’sh beer).
Ever since graduating college I have picked up the interest in traveling (along with the money to do so). While most of my trips have been to Chicago I have also been to Las Vegas, Toronto, and Grand Rapids Michigan. Although I have made numerous trips to the same places I enjoy it because of the people have met. Thanks to my travels I have met and made friends with people of all sorts of backgrounds and from all around the globe that I would have never met in my small town.
I still have a huge list of goals that I hope to accomplish in my life, but so far I am very proud of the ones I have done so far. Highest on my list so far is probably my work on the BML and in particular the charity work we have been doing. In just over 3 months we have raised over $2,800 which is huge considering the original goal was for $750 in about 4 months. If you don’t know about Camp Heartland I highly suggest you go read my brief write up about this great charity on the BML’s Charity page.
This myspace was originally themed and designed by my good friend Joe Burke, but using his code I have since revamp it with a new background.
