Livin' on the Edge

About Me

"If you're not livin' on the edge, you're takin' up too much space"-- For me this isn't about sky diving, motorcycling or mountain climbing; it's about personally taking the risk of courage, commitment and sacrifice to live exceptionally, learn completely and love unconditionally.I grew up as an Army brat and have lived all across America, and for a short time lived in Germany. When my Dad retired from the Army, we were in Tennessee, and that is where I like to think I'm from--It's the closest thing to 'home' that I have, so I might as well hold onto it. I've lived for most of the last 19 years in Phoenix, Arizona. I would say it's a cool place, but everyone knows most of the time it's freaking hotter than hell! And I LOVE it!! I have three wonderful children--two of which are already adults--yikes! I wouldn't trade any one of them for the world, because they are my world. :-)I've been told I'm intelligent, articulate, good-looking, funny, thoughtful, passionate and loving. Accolades like that don't come cheap, let me tell you--but for the right money, people will say anything! ;-)I like most sports, but I don't obsess over them--that is, if you don't count football season. This year I have SEASON TICKETS to the Arizona Cardinals at their brand new world class stadium. I believe that this year fans in Arizona will finally have something to really cheer about. I'll keep you posted! :-)I have also coached my son's Little League team for the last couple of years, and look forward to continuing to do so as the seasons near. I do have a competitive spirit, but I'm not a win-at-all-costs kind of guy. For me it's all about the fun. Finally, I'm not a complicated guy--but this can be a complicated world, and you should know that mostly I'm just trying to find my place in it.

My Interests

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !

I'd like to meet:

REAL people who have similar interests, and/or completely different ones... There's absolutely nothing wrong with that--in fact, I encourage it!

Music:

The one thing I know about my musical taste, is that it is constantly evolving. The older one gets the more music that there is to appreciate. That being said, I'm a rocker at heart. Bob Seger wrote, "Just like that ol' fashioned Rock 'n Roll. That kinda music just soothes my soul." But there's a huge part of me that likes singer/songwriters and I'm not above stating that James Taylor is one of my all time favorites.Current Favorite:Counting Crows, "New Amsterdam; Live"Recently Purchased: The Refreshments, "Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy, Anna Nalick, "Wreck of the Day" Pearl Jam, "10" The Black Crowes, "Freak 'n Roll..into the fog" Joe Bonamassa, "A New Day Yesterday Live" Stevie Ray Vaughan, "Greatest Hits" Buckcherry, "15"Currently in my CD wallet: Dave Matthews Band, U2, Train,Counting Crows, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lifehouse, Staind, Velvet Revolver, John Mayer, Santana, Aerosmith, Peter Frampton, Eagles, Boston, Bad Company, Thin Lizzy, Allman Brothers Band, Led Zepplin, Yes, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band

Movies:

With so many movies in my personal collection, it's hard to know where to start. Let's just say that the biggest part of my collection includes a section I call "Good guys kick ass" (action-adventure). And what collection wouldn't be complete without the entire Star Wars saga? The movie I never get tired of watching: Grosse Pointe Blank.

Television:

Who has time for television?? Well, I do like Bill Maher's "Real Time" on HBO--Id Tenendum Verum!! Other than that, it's slim pickin's until the NFL regular season starts again.

Books:

I've often wondered, "Why Counting Crows? What is the significance??"--From an English verse (also'A Murder of One') Counting crows-- One for sorrow, two for joy, Three for girls and four for boys, Five for silver, six for gold and Seven for a secret never to be told"Perhaps this secret isn't as big as the mystery of life, but I'll keep looking for the clues anyhow...

Heroes:

Anyone and everyone that has the courage to be themselves. Pat Tillman 1976-2004
