Rygiboges

If you like what you hear, email me, and i can arrange mailing you a copy of the whole disc (14 songs, 74 mins or so). This is my solo side project. "Shadow Folk" is the main band i'm in (formerly Cities). Rygiboges (pronounced Rye-ghi-boges) is a nick-name my dad used to call me when i was a kid, which really annoyed me at the time. i recoreded an album (it's called "wineglasses filled with varying levels of water") in my basement studio. i had some friends help out on some of the instruments. otherwise i played everything else. this album was definitely a personal project, more so than "Cities" stuff, where it's kind of a cooperative of ideas. my lovely wife luisa makes an appearance, as does my grandpa vince (who steals the show). he's still living at the present moment, but at the time i wanted to make sure that i got his voice recorded. the record really jumps around stylistically; there's some chill folksy stuff, some indie rock stuff, some experimental, electronic etc. etc. i wanted it to be kaliedescopic and colorful. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ((update)) i just finished album ..2, affectionately titled "Themotion". it's a bit different from the first, but still rygiboges. slightly shorter (11 songs, 59 mins). let me know if you would like a copy of this disc as well. Kevin Hanson, played the majority of the drums on the album; he was also on "wineglasses" for a few songs & the "cities" album. he'll be running for president in 2008. Peter Aamoth contributed some wonderful sampled drum tracks form his MPC, he's also known as DJ Anonaamoth. Kelly Turner threw down some violin stylings on a couple tracks, it was her first recording experience and she was very professional about it. My wife luisa makes another appearance. Kevin's brother-in-law Brian played one note on the album.------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------(update) i am currently recording Rygiboges III: Return of Son of Rygiboges. i am hoping to have something finished by this summer. maybe. we'll see. i'm busy being a dad and all. ;O)
