   My Guitar God
Yngwie J. Malmsteen
Yngwie Malmsteen (pronounced Ing-Vay) is a Swedish born guitarist who came to America in the early 1980's. He set the rock world on its ear with his trademark neoclassical style, combining hard rock with classical elements such as from Bach and Paganini. His first solo album Rising Force was nominated for a Grammy in 1984. While many fans regard him as a virtuoso rock guitarist, Yngwie views himself more as a composer in the classical sense. He writes all the music for his band to play. Yngwie even wrote a complete instrumental Concerto he performed with a classical orchestra. He also plays bass guitar on all of his recordings. Yngwie's complete command of guitar and the music he plays has earned him the title of Maestro by his fans. There have been many imitators since but still only one Yngwie J. Malmsteen!
