After graduating Clemson in 1997, I married and was a military wife until I divorced and went to veterinary school. I was a veterinary technician for 10 years in South Carolina, Utah, and Ohio. Upon graduating veterinary school, I worked in Rogersville, Tennessee as a 2nd doctor in a 2-hospital practice. There, I also worked as an equine ambulatory veterinarian. Even the kick to my face in my senior year of vet school couldn't keep me away from the horses. It did; however, get me a nice ride to the ER and a depression fracture of my nose.
After leaving TN, I found my way back to Chinquapin Animal Hospital where I am now an associate veterinarian in an AWESOME hospital. I look forward to going to work everyday and I am always anxious to see what new problem a patient will bring me. I thrive on speed and adrenaline and love emergency medicine. Oh, yeah, I love my laser in surgery, too- a scalpel blade is now my nemesis!
In May I married Jimmy, a 2-tour veteran of Iran and Afghanistan-making me an Army wife now. Brett is my new stepson, he is 13 years old and is the coolest kid ever!!
