Shakita was born March 29, 1981 to Carolyn Smith and Charles B. Palmer. She worked as a dietary assistant at Decatur Memorial Hospital for 4 years. She also had work experience as a mail sorter. Shakita believed in God and attended the Living Word Evangelistic Ministries Church under the leadership of Elder Marvin Joyner. She enjoyed spending time with her children and family. She leaves to cherish her memories: mother, Carolyn Smith and special friend, Mikkos Taylor of Decatur; father, Charles B. Services in celebration of her life will be held: 11:00 Saturday at the Main Street Church of the Living God with Elder Marvin Joyner, eulogist and Rev. Byron Hansbro, officiating. Visitation two hours before service at the church. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery. Professional services entrusted to: Walker Funeral Service and Chapel.
