I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Well, it's Spring Quarter here at OSU and that means I'm almost done with the wretched hell of a year I made for myself as a second time around undergrad student in pre-medicine. Since I decided that I no longer want to pursue a career as a doctor, I'm lining myself up to take the GRE shortly so I can apply to the Urban and Regional Planning program in the Graduate School at OSU. Fun times!

Other than those amazing details, some more broad statements about myself follow thusly:

Video games are my main thing other than school (which takes up WAY too much of my gaming time!). I love to read good books, usually sci-fi or fantasy genre. I shamefully love a lot of really awful reality TV. All in all, I'm a really laid-back, decent person to know.

My Interests

Generally speaking, I'm your run of the mill counter-culture gamer grrl. I play D&D, video games, and Magic the Gathering. I draw (when I get inspired) and psychological thrillers rock. I'm not a real "people person". Unless I like you... that doesn't count. ^^

I'd like to meet:

People from HS, grade school, and college. Anyone who likes to game. Anyone who can string words together intelligently to make good conversation.

I am bored a lot.

Stalkers need not apply.

Music:

Alice Cooper, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Thin Lizzy, Megadeath, The Darkness, Queensryche, Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, The Orb, White Zombie, LA Guns, Quiet Riot, Aerosmith, Mindless Self Indulgence, Queen, David Bowie, KISS, My Chemical Romance, Ramones, Nico, Doria Roberts, The Clash, Poe, The Venus in Furs, Wolfmother, U-ziq, and a lot more stuff that isn't country.

Movies:

SLC Punk, V for Vendetta, Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill I and II, Battle Royale, Ju-on, Ring-u, The Shinning, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Thank You for Smoking, Finding Nemo, Happy Feet, Lord of the Rings, Spirited Away, Grave of the Fireflies, Princess Mononoke, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, The Neverending Story, Legend, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Reefer Madness (The Musical), Little Shop of Horrors, The Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice

Television:

Scrubs, L-Word, Animal Cops, Emergency Vet, Top Chef, Project Runway... Yeah... I watch a lot of mindless reality TV.

Books:

Pretty much anything Crichton, Lord of the Rings series, The Hobbit, Catcher in the Rye, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Moonshadow, The Wheel of Time series, The Giver, 1984, Brave New World, A Wrinkle in Time, Great Expectations, The Golden Compass series

Detach N' Go!

That subject line is actually the brand of my new pill organizer I bought at Target, but I thought it made a surprisingly good emo-LJ title line. I never know what to put in that field, and more often...

My Gamma Knife Experience

I have a theory. Surgeons must schedule patients so early in the morning that it makes them absolutely incapable of having a serious mental breakdown due to severe fatigue. J Okay, probably not& but, ...

*sigh*

Despite my attempts to forget and move on, I am (once again) plagued with sadness, depression, anger, frustration, and a general feeling of being unbelievably betrayed by a certain someone who shall r...

So, turns out my doctors were just kidding about my Gamma Knife surgery date. They had to reschedule it for March 23rd. Whatever. I just hope this kills all those stupid ACTH cells. I've got some ques...
