CHICKENHAWK

About Me

In 1994 club impresario and celebrity DJ Big Daddy Carlos decided to put together an all-star bands band comprised of some of Hollywood’s most notorious "Rock ’n’ Rollers". The idea was to bring back the glitz and theatrical showmanship to rock and roll (as it had been lost in the previous years with anti rockstar grunge phase). The Hawk took flight in November of 1995 at San Francisco’s DNA lounge. The show would later go down to "mixed" reviews BUT the after-party was legendary even for by SF terms. Two weeks later Chickenhawk opened up for Oasis during their "What’s The Story Morning Glory" tour at the Viper Room in West Hollywood and arguably stole the show. For the next five years the hawk would play to sold out crowds from Vegas to Texas to Frisco and of course... Hollywood. Johnny Depp’s world famous Viper Room became their home away from home. The Hawk would go down in infamy for the legendary night of the highest unpaid bar tab ever on the Sunset Strip. Capitol Records, MCA and Atlantic all paid the hawk hefty sums for recording but in the long run the concern for Big Daddy and Co’s "extra curricular activities" curtailed the boys’ shot at world-wide domination.
Noted for their over the top stage performances, balls out shows and encores featuring mariachis, transvestites, and midgets... Chickenhawk will go down forever as one of Hollywood’s all time supernovas...
If you were there, you were there...
