About Me

Little Tokyo Sesh
Some of whom we have opened for, played with, or for: Rahzel (the Roots), Supernatural, Zion I, Devin the Dude, the Breakstra, Cunnin' Linguists, Fatlip of Pharcyde, Brother Ali, Hepcat, Ozomatli, Jurrassic 5, Peanutbutter Wolf, Mr. Lif, Blu (Blu & Exhile), Murs (Living Legends), KRS-One, Ill-Literacy, La Pobreska, Julio Desgracias (Fishbone sideproject), Inverse etc.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++The Revolution of hip hop. The spirit of the starved, the forsaken, and the forgotten. If youve ever gone hungry, this is for you. If you ever rode the bus, this is for you. If you ever lost someone in the streets, this is for you. If you, or anyone you know ever got caught up in drugs, this is for you. If youve ever been racially profiled, arrested, or harassed by the police, this is for you. If you or someone you love, ever did time, this is for you. If you have kids and you take care of them, this is for you. If you know what struggle is firsthand, this is for you. If you know you can't take it with you when you die, this is for you. If you think for yourself, this is for you. If you love and respect the women in your families and lives as men, and love and respect the men in your families and lives as women, this is for you. If you know the difference between keeping it real and keeping it righteous, this is for you. If you love progressive music and/or you love true hip hop, then this is definitely for you. Popular rap assumes your ignorance, we assume your intelligence. Theoretically, The Stolen Beats Projects originated as a Live bootleg performance, which incorporated beats deeply rooted in jazz, soul, and funk breaks, and lyrics which editorialised the modern day Hip Hop community, and the general existential ethics of capitilist living, whilst keeping true to the Old School. Have we created Art, or has it created us? The Stolen Beats Projects has evolved into a Colective, over ten years in the making. Hip Hop for intelligent heads. We like to think the music has become something which transcends hip hop, space rock, punk rock, I still want more. We like to think The Projects has matured from an idea born into a movement of ideas, kept grounded within the boundaries of truth, community responsibility, and integrity. We like to think. Siempre Hasta la Victoria!
