A solid groove is the basis to any Duncan K set. Whether it is dark techy house and breaks, or something a little deeper, Duncan K is certainly one to watch out for.A budding DJ since the age of 15, Duncan has a real passion for dance music that helps him understand and read a crowd with real expertise. Since those early years of rave and tape packs, his musical style has matured, but his enthusiasm and dedication is still as strong as ever.It wasnt until moving to university in Kent at the age of 19 that Duncan got his first big break. After organising a few, small underground parties which included guests such as a relatively unknown Nic Fanciulli and Offset Music label boss George Andrews, Duncan got asked to put his parties on at the new, ClubClass owned bar, River. Those now legendary Elevate parties indeed elevated Duncan to being offered a residency at Club Class in 2002, where he got to develop his talent alongside some of the biggest DJs in the world, such as Danny Howells, Jon Carter, Lucien Foort and Smokin Jo.After leaving ClubClass, Duncan continued to DJ all over the South East and London, but missed the excitement of promoting his own parties. So in 2005 he started two new promotions, Deep South Music and Babyshake. With Deep South, Duncan is given the chance to develop his deeper, techier side, playing alongside some of the biggest names in underground house including the likes of Jay Tripwire, The Lawnchair Generals, Eddie Richards, Olivier Desmet and Nathan Coles. Babyshake is Duncans breakbeat venture. Taking regular controls of warm up duties, he has warmed up for the likes of Leeroy Thornhill (The Prodigy), Tayo (Radio 1), Meat Katie, Ali B, Soul of Man, Stanton Warriors and the Freestylers.2006 was a crazy year. New residencies with Jaded @ The End (Londons craziest after hours club) and Ministry of Sound London for Club Class / Breakpoint sees Duncan playing to a cutting edge crowd regularly in London alongside huge acts such as Lee Coombs, Buick Project, Elite Force and Paul Woolford. And in August 2006 Duncan had the honour to play Kents first electronic dance festival, Electric Gardens, where he played to a packed tent of 3,000 clubbers, warming up for Layo and Bushwaka! 2006 also saw Duncan playing for Terry Francis and Nathan Coles infamous Wiggle party, rocking a guest slot at Mr C's club The End, a two night showcase in Bosnia and a first appearance at one of the North of Englands premier underground clubs Stealth.2007 has been Duncan's biggest achievement yet. With his regular slots at the best club's across the UK (Electric Gardens Festival), MOS, Stealth, The End, Dusk Till Dawn etc) and Ibiza, including a set at the legendary We Love... Sunday's at Space it is certainly shaping up to be the year Duncan K arrives.Duncan is also busy in the studio. A bootleg of Peace Divisions Deeper and the Jungle Brothers gained support world wide, including numerous plays by big house hitters such as Satoshi Tommie and Nic Fanciulli. A recent remix of Claude Von Stroke's modern classic "Deep Throat" has been rocking dance floor's for the last few months too.
