About Me

I love music. It’s as simple as that. It’s the one thing that I know will bring joy to my life. And if I really feel connected to something like that, it can become my own personal dreamscape.
Some say my music is moody. I think of it as mood-evoking…be it loving, reminiscent or dreamy. (There’s that word again.)
I was captivated by Jethro Tull at an early age. I listened to “Skating away on the thin ice of a new day” over and over until I had memorized every word.
I once saw Jeff Buckley do an in-store performance. I was taken by surprise to find that my mouth had involuntarily dropped open. Why do such beings as Jeff Buckley and Chris Whitley have to go so soon?
Cole Hanson is an amazing guitarist here in Austin. I treasure him. He and others (keyboardist Derek Morris; bassists Jake Blackwell and George Reiff, and drummer Kevin Pearson) helped fuel my creativity on “Dream”. (Darin Murphy joined in with his singing talents on “Weave”.)
The songs on “Dream” are about love, of course, the broken heart and the downfalls that I’ve encountered, but they’re also about the other side of it – how to transcend those places. And there’s always this sort of romantic element as far as meeting the other in that realm, and really being able to have that deep, heartfelt conversation that only two people can have in that space.
