I guess it all started when I was 11 and my friend Dennis asked me to buy him the new Sweet single for his birthday. That single was The Ballroom Blitz and I bought a copy for myself as well. To most people it was probably just another silly pop song. For me, putting this piece of plastic on a turntable for the first time was a defining moment in life. A few months later Dennis' father was kind enough to drive us to Gothenburg to see The Sweet live at the Scandinavium arena. That was my first rock concert and I ended up in the front row; jumping and shouting and even fighting (over Mick Tucker's drumsticks).
When I was 15 the first wave of punk rock emerged and even in my small hometown Hjo (less than 5000 inhabitants) in the middle of nowhere (= the south of Sweden) the punk explosion had a strong impact. Infected by its D.I.Y. energy I started my own fanzine and began writing song lyrics. In the summer of '79 my guitar playing friend Sören and I finally got a band together and from then on I have probably spent more time at rehearsals and gigs than anywhere else. I started as a singer but following the break up of my first band I switched to bassplaying. You should definitely thank me for that.
After a few rather misspent years I had a short sort of career as a journalist, but abandoned that and my hometown to try life in the big city. I moved to Stockholm in the summer of 1985 and joined my first band in the Capital after about a month. Since then I've been playing in tons of bands of various directions. And after almost three decades as a musician I still enjoy creating a good noise as much as I ever did. Which I now do with a band called The Part-Time Posers .
During the 90's I worked as a festival organizer, hereby finding myself involved in the world of music from a different angle. I enjoyed that a lot, and after our final festival in 1999 I started a management company; Chatterbox Entertainment.
It's safe to say music is the No. 1 love of my life. Luckily it's a 2-way love affair and I'm sure we'll stay true to each other until death do us part :)
