Excelsior's talents are in voice, writing, producing and spirit!After a number of independent releases, Excelsior made their nationally distributed debut to much anticipation and acclaim in 2001. With their debut release, God@Work, this charismatic choral ensemble carved a niche for themselves in an industry full of seasoned choirs and performers even receiving the Stellar Award for Best New Artist. Following the Stellar Award win, Excelsior returned with the studio album Soul Interpretations which landed them a 2003 Grammy nomination.Now, poised with momentum of these celebrated albums, Excelsior is at the onset of releasing their junior project, The Promise. This collection of songs displays even more growth and music maturity. The songs solidify Excelsiors place in the Gospel Music Industry, with tracks like So Good, It Shall Come to Pass and the funky contemporary We Made It. You are, Song of Worship, and Awesome are songs of trust, encouragement, reassurance and submission to God that permeate this ministry driven and choir friendly release.The Promise serves as an explanation and understanding of Excelsiors perspective both musically and spiritually. The down-to-earth choir from Minneapolis proves again to be the choir of the new millennium.
