-Ryan Ricker, nice to meet you-

This will be the high point of my day. It's all downhill from here.

About Me

I'm at work right now, so this will probably suck.I've moved to the corner of Belmont and Sheffield with my great friend/partner in crime Jim. I work sales for CareerBuilder.com, the #1 online recruitment solution in the country. I ride the EL, I watch the Cubs/Bears/Bulls, I play Xbox360 (Fable, Madden, GuitarHero), I drink and dance and screw (Shatner style), I'm a netflix guy, HBO on-demand (Entourage/FOTCC), Bacardi Limon/Captain Morgan/whiskey, Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwhiches, going to bed really early or really late, hip concerts, learning how to cook stuff that isn't camping related, reading novels that I missed when I was too busy 'studying', remembering a past life in Australia, thinking about media and it's impact on society, CAPS, the ice machine in our freezer/britta filtered water, wearing sandals, playing golf, and all that stuff. By the end I was just listing random shit anyway.I miss my sister. You deserve the best at your new school. I miss my girlfriend (that's her in my picture creeping up my shoulder, in case you have no clue what's going on in my life these days). Finish strong darling, at school and radio. You have so much talent. I am so proud. You're everything to me. I miss all my friends that don't live in the city. Drop whatever you're doing and get the fuck up here. I can walk 8 minutes from my residence to Wrigley Field. I miss Koala Yummies, they were a delicious snack treat. I want a dog with a scrunchy face that snorts and stuff, and has big pointy ears. I like Cake, Frank Sinatra, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. I get leg cramps frequently and like when she rubs them. I quit smoking cigarettes. I read every article on ESPN.com everyday, so take me seriously when we talk sports. I don't work out, but I should start running.Thing I'm really looking forward to in the future: Hot Chip @ The Vic 4/17/08.

My Interests

I have purposely chosen not to have a song play on this page because I'm usually listening to my own music when looking at other pages and it freaks me out when I hear loud noise over whatever I'm listening to, so I'll spare you that bit of nonsense.Listen to WPGU 107.1 (in the champaign area) from 3-6pm every weekday to hear Monica spin. Stream it at www.wpgu.com.

Books:

I wish I had time to read fiction. My favorite spines: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, On the Road by Jack Kerouac, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream by Hunter S. Thompson, and Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. I guess you can judge how much you like the book by how many times you're willing to read them...so those are the winners. Kind of cliche selections, but I enjoyed them more than textbooks.Recent reads: -The Audacity of Hope -Perks of Being a WallFlowerNext reads: -Hairstyles of the Damned -Klosterman stuff

Heroes:

Everyone that has had a postive impact on my life...and Lester Burnham.
