About Me

4/20/2010 HUGE UPDATE!
As you can see, the original members of Seventh Calling have reformed and we are now calling ourselves DEAD MIND'S EYE. We were asked specifically by Joe Spannbauer, promoter/soundman/all around great guy to reform along with other bands he promoted back from 2000-2005 to play his 50th birthday bash at the Rock Nightclub in Maplewood MN on 5/1/2010. So the boys and I got together, talked about if we should throw on the makeup, get up on stage and rock out. And of course the answer was a resounding "HELL YES!". We've been jammin' and its like we never stopped. It's gonna rock so make sure you're there!
4/7/09 Update!
I've uploaded 3 demos for the songs "Drifting Visions", "Doom Room", & "Touch Of The Meaningless". "Drifting Visions" was written by me & I played all instruments. "Doom Room", written by me has me on guitar & bass, Ken Coy on drums. "Touch Of The Meaningless" was written by me, I play guitars, Rian plays backup guitars & keyboards, Mason 12Pack Neste on vocals. Enjoy!
3/13/2009 Update!
Friday the 13th! I've uploaded a remaster of the opening track "Burnt" from our self-titled debut release! You'll enjoy this one, its a real thrasher with a weird, spacey, evil middle part. Fire it up, then crank it up!
1/3/2009 Update!
Happy New Year everyone! I've added a remix of the song "Psychomanteum" from our self-titled debut album. Lots of parts, very melodic, with a crushing & very heavy ending. Enjoy!
3/21/2007
We've just added the final mix of "Fall of the House of Seven". As noted before, my brother Rain wrote the song & played guitar, I played bass, and Mason "12Pack" Neste and I wrote and sang the vocals. It's a melodic rocker that reminds me of Dokken mixed with power metal and tougher vocals. Enjoy!
1/17/2007
I've just added 2 remastered tracks from 21st CENTURY SIN's debut release, "Iscariot Dilemma" & "The Pact". This album was our first excursion into the studio, and we learned a lot. This album was recorded on 2-inch tape, before Pro Tools and Cubase and home recording became widely available and easy to use. Check out my pics to see the inner sleeve for the album. As you can tell from the tracks, we were heavily influenced by Sepultura, Slayer, and Machine Head at the time. My songwriting has progressed to a more melodic style, but I enjoy the aggression and technical prowess of these tracks. Enjoy!
ABOUT "The Abandoning":
This song was written & recorded in 2003, well after 21st Century Sin had broken up. I decided to keep the name and continue writing songs. I wrote all the music for this song, and fortunately had great input from my friends who helped with the recording of these tracks. I played all the guitar & bass parts. Ken Coy, whom I played with in 21st Century Sin, played drums. My brother Rain played keyboards and the rockin' guitar solo on "The Abandoning". I do have lyrics, but I'm not sure if I want to use them or just keep it an instrumental. We'll see. I have a lot more material that you will hear in the future!
MORE NEW TUNES TO COME!!! INCLUDING SOME REMASTERED KICK-ASS TRACKS FROM 21ST CENTURY SIN'S DEBUT AS WELL AS A LOST TRACK FROM THE DEATH METAL PROJECT "HELLHAVEN"! GUARANTEED TO BE HEAVY!
About me? I've been playing bass & guitar for a LONG TIME now! I spend a lot of time, some say way too much time, listening to & playing metal. As you can see, I spent 4 years playing bass for 21st Century Sin. After that, from 2000-2002 I spent in the band Seventh Calling. I jammed with Seventh Calling again for a while in 2006, and it was great to see all my old friends again. Alas, things once again came to a turning point and I've decided to focus on my own songwriting. I love discovering new bands. When I'm hanging out, I can go from listening to the heaviest metal like Immortal to throwing in some Steelheart "Love Ain't Easy". No limits. No such thing as being too pussy or being the toughest of all time when it comes to music. Neo - "What is the Matrix"? Morpheus - "Do you want to know what it is?"

Hopefully I'll become super famous so I can go out with Lindsay Lohan for 10 or 15 minutes! She goes through guys about that fast, right?
Some more reviews of new music I've been listening to will be posted soon. There's lots of stuff to go through, and I'm sure you're all excited to hear my opinions! (Sarcasm on)

21st Century Sin was a progressive speed-metal project with a full length CD released in 1998 and an EP in 2000. In the summer of 2000, 21st Century Sin parted ways. Rick continues to write music for the project, as well as music for anyone else that wants a diverse, experienced songwriter to work with. Although we are a recording project only, we hope fans of metal will enjoy listening to our songs as much as we enjoy writing & recording them.
