Jehovah's Witness

About Me

****************
Love is Kind. (1 Cor 13:4)
Shunning is not.
*****************
Are You Considering Becoming a Jehovah's Witness? Are you attracted to their clean-cut image? Do you think they are kind and loving? Do you think they might be God's One True Religion on earth?
Do you know that once you are a Jehovah's Witness, you can't leave the religion without being shunned and declared dead to God?
A former member actually video taped the moment few outsiders see, when a Jehovah's Witness is in effect condemed to death by two elders.
<--------------------------
In this video clip, two Jehovah’s Witness elders inform a former member (holding the video camera) that a group of men, led by God’s Holy Spirit, have decided that the member is now disfellowshipped.
Translation: These men with Bibles had a meeting and decided that God no longer hears this man’s prayers and that he is in fact, dead to God.
Being disfellowshipped also means that he is now dead to all Jehovah’s’ Witness friends and family.* If he sees a Jehovah’s Witness at the Kingdom Hall, the grocery store or anywhere, he will be ignored as if he isn’t even there. He will not even receive a ‘hello.’ Most Jehovah’s Witnesses with even avoid making eye contact with him.
The man’s crime was deciding he no longer thinks that the Jehovah’s Witnesses are God’s One True Religion and telling others of his beliefs. They call this have a ‘diseased mind’ and it is an offence punishable by death at the hands of the Almighty God. In these men’s eyes, it would have been better if the man had died than for him to live but be found guilty of this most heinous of crimes, apostasy from the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
*Some Jehovah’s Witnesses will speak to family members who are disfellowshipped, but they are the exception rather than the rule. Most Jehovah’s Witnesses do not speak to disfellowshipped family members except for family emergencies or NOT AT ALL.
Here is an example of a Jehovah's Witness baby who knows that because someone is disfellowshipped, she can't speak to him. She believes that she will be able to speak to him in the future, when he is 'un-disfellowshipped' and that is true. If this person goes back to the religion, she can talk to him again. However, if he never goes back to the religion again because he doesn't believe in it, then she can never, ever, speak to him again. Unless SHE leaves the religion when she gets older. But then she would loose her JW family members.....

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who are or have been Jehovah's Witnesses. We are WITNESSES to this emotional abuse. Please DON'T be silenced. Please TELL US your story!
The world needs to know that Jehovah's Witnesses believe shunning is loving.

------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Below is the URL to a newspaper article about Jehovah's Witness shunning and a woman who is totally shunned by her children:
http://www.sptimes.com/2002/08/22/Floridian/Spiritual_shunni ng.shtml
In this article the Jehovah's Witnesses say between 50,000 and 60,000 people are disfellowshipped each year.
The Lesson: If you are a Jehovah's Witness and you don't agree with some of the teachings, you must keep your 'mouth taped shut' or you will loose your friends and family.

If YOU KNOW shunning is unkind and NOT loving at all, please ADD!

Why I don't think shunning is Biblical or Christian

1 Corinthians 13:1-13  1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels but do not have love, I have become a sounding [piece of] brass or a clashing cymbal. 2 And if I have the gift of prophesyi...
