My primary artistic goal has always been to achieve a level of expression with visual imagery that would communicate everything that could be communicated, and in the process, discover and master the medium that would do just that.Hailing from a fashion photography background, having spent 6 years in Paris, assisting fashion photographers, my first assignments in New York were with modeling agencies Elite, Wilhemina, Karin, IMG, Company, Boss, etc. My visual style won me the TIMMY Awards for "Best Photographer" in New York.I began to experiment extensively with film and video media. I shot and directed my first music video, Strawberry Rose, on 35mm film for the Le Bain Douche/Queen Parisian singing sensation, Bamboo. Immediately after, I broke into the fashion video world when I was hired by The Fashion Association in 1996-1997 to direct and shoot the Mens and Womens Spring/Fall Collections. A string of fashion show videos followed which included shows from BCBG, Amer Kamal and Epperson. Having successfully crossed over to video, I was approached by different agencies to direct and shoot numerous promotional and corporate videos, amongst them, the New York Times Expect the World industrial; Supermodel Frederique Van der Wahls lingerie collection, Frederique Q; Dutch designer Anet Meyer. After much experimentation with lighting, textures, color schemes and motion, I felt confident enough in the digital media to shoot R & B music video Be There for artist,, Othello, half in film and half in digital video. Folk rock singer, Nancy Os music video was shot entirely in digital video, as was New York Sense, a pilot shot in New York that airs on Korean TV. Not limiting myself to just digital video, I began mixing both film and digital media in fashion and portrait photography. My photography credits include the covers of trance-bible mag, Mixer, which featured Netwerk Americas electronic-music phenom BT, Atlantic Records renowned DJ Skribble and also the publicity shots of STUD!O K7s Manchester duo Rae & Christian;Believing that Asia is poised to be the next "happening" media/fashion hub, I am based here now, shooting television commercials and stills regionally. Amongst others I have shot the Phillips cell phone Southeast Asia print campaign, and directed TV commercials for MediaCorp Radio, the Singapore Fashion Festival as well as Crocodile's "Feel the Strength" campaign and the list goes on.I'm eager to explore with even more groundbreaking forms of aesthetic expression digitally. Notwithstanding, I do not believe that the classic image making forms will necessarily become obsolete. Because after all is said and done, I believe that what is being said visually is essentially more important than how it is being said (even though the one is not really separate from the other) and hence, it is the message, finally that will dictate the media and in this eclectic new millennium, that perfect media appears to be a hybrid of visual genres.
