"The sheer largenesss of the band's presence on Stereotype is worth the price of admission. Imagine guitar tones that scream without screeching. Bass that pumps without bottoming out. Drums that pound without overshadowing. Riffs that can turn on a dime and move effortlessly to booming choruses and fistpumping tempos. Alreay secured its position as one of Athens' best live bands, Urban Henry has delivered a record that's a document of this phenomenon." ------Flagpole Magazine, Gordon Lamb
In 1997, Urban Herny's first album was released and for the next four years we toured throughout the north and southeast. We played with national favorites like Trail of Dead, Plug Spark Sunjay, Flair, Solar Coaster, Capital Capital and -what the fuck- shows with acts like Bell Biv Devoe. Athens favorites include Sci-Fu, Drive-by Truckers, the Possibilities, Ceiling Fan and Michael. We plan to release new material later this year. Check out our web site for more.
Urban Henry's last lineup consisted of Eric Holder, Matt McFerron of El Dorado, Brandon McDearis of Goat and Southern Bitch ) and Brian Sweeney.
John Britt of Stunt Double and Jason Gonzalas of Nutria and The Possibilities both recorded and toured with the band. Thank God.
Tom Lewis, Chris Grehen (Nutria, The Possibilites), Chris Bishop and Rudy Colors recorded Urban Henry.
