2000 yilinin Haziran ayinda Kadiköy’de kurulan Pickpocket 2 sene boyunca birbirinden farkli underground barlar ve konser salonlarinda sahne aldi. 2003 yilinin Ocak ayinda “Kurban” grubunun solisti Deniz Yilmaz’in stüdyosunda kaydettigi “Just wait for me” adli parcasi ile Roxy müzik yarismasina katilan Pickpocket, o yil 8.si düzenlenen “Efes Dark Müzik Günleri”nde, hem birincilik ödülünü, hem de 5 bine yakin tüketicinin oylariyla belirlenen “Efes Dark Özel Ödülü”nü, oylarin yüzde 63’ünü toplayarak kazandi. Pickpocket “Roxy Müzik Günleri”nden sonra bircok konser, festival, TV ve radyo programlarinda yer aldi.
2004 yilinin sonlarina kadar müziklerini Ingilizce sözlerle icra eden grup, o günlerde yaptigi “Ilk” adli Türkce parcayla ilgi çekmeyi basardi. Yaptiklari ilk Türkce parcanin bu kadar olumlu tepki almasi üzerine, Pickpocket yoluna Türkce sözlerle devam etmeye karar verdi. 2 sene boyunca sayisiz konser organizasyonunda yer alan grup, özellikle sahnedeki durusu ve performansi ile ilgi çekmeyi basardi.
2006 yilinda bestelerini bir albümde toplamaya karar veren Pickpocket, 10 sarkidan olusan "Hayalle Gerçek Arasinda" adli ilk albümünü 18 Nisan 2008’de çikardi. Umit Kuzer ve Martin Cru Spencer’dan olusan Virus Production ’un yapimciligini ve produktörlügünü üslendigi albümün dagitimini Irem Records gerçeklestiriyor. Su siralar "Garaj stüdyolari"nda çalismalarina devam eden Pickpocket, ayni zamanda klip çekimi hazirliklari yapmaktadir.
The band pickpocket was formed in Kadikoy in 2000. For two years the band performed in concert halls and underground bars. In January 2003 they attended the Roxy music contest with the song called 'just wait for me, which was recorded in the band called Kurban' lead singers, Deniz Yilmaz, studio. They won the first price in the 8th ' Efes Dark Müsik Günleri' and they also won the contest called 'Roxy Müzik Günleri’ by 5 thousand peoples vote with a 63 percentage. After the Roxy müzik Günleri' They gave many concerts and attended in festivals, TV shows and radio programs.
Untill the end of 2004 their lyrics were all in English, how ever they managed to atract listeners with their first Turkish song 'Ilk'. After the success of their first Turkish song, The band decided to continue to write their lyrics in Turkish. After giving countless concerts for two years, the band started to gain success with their solid stage performance.
Pickpocket decided to make their first album in 2006. They relased thier first album ' Hayelle Gerçek Arasinda' which contained 10 of thier songs. Virus Production, which is formed by Umit Kuzer and Martin Cru Spencer, is handling the production of the album while Irem records are handling the distrubution of the album. These days Pickpocket is continuing to work in ‘Garage Studios’, and in the mean time they are prepairing for their video shoot.
