About Me

Our album is now available on CD BABY!!!
"What a brilliant show from this uber-energetic punk-pop band! To a rowdy crowd of Trainwrecks diehards, this group presented a fun, enthusiastic performance. Lead singer and guitarist, Garner Knutsen, showed a natural ability on the stage. His guitar work was a fun mix of power chords and quirky lead lines which played very well with the clever, occasionally sardonic, lyrics. Vocally, Garner delivered attitude and verve in true punk style a la Billie Joe Armstrong. In between songs, his quick wit kept the audience keyed up. Although bassist Carla Betz was supposed to be feeling under the weather, she popped off a performance which was as skilled as it was fun to watch. Providing straightforward bass lines, Carla held the bottom while interjecting inventive fills. Evidently she typically adds backing vocals, but was prevented from doing so due to her illness. This is disappointing, as I suspect these vocals would add even more to the catchy melody lines. However, her illness didn't keep her from giving an animated show. Drummer, Jason Rarick, dominates the kit with his impressive height. He uses his long limbs to move around the kit with significant speed. Particularly remarkable is his tom work which he utilizes throughout the songs, rather than just during fills. This playing style ensures that the three piece never sounds incomplete. Songwriting in this group is an unmistakable strength. The witty lyrics are outshone only by radio-ready melody lines that stick with you all night. Their song list even included an innovative punk version of Paperback Writer. The Trainwrecks is a band in motion. Their fan base is obviously loyal, and with shows like this, it's very likely growing in droves. Certainly, this is a band to watch."
