"This is history in progress" expressed Wilmer "The Blues to Lover" (speaker of the program "Nights of Blues" of radial station WVID90.3FM in Puerto Rico) referring to JRC & The Crossroad. The project is originated at the beginning of year 2005, when Joel Roman Cruz (JRC) feels restlessness about its musical direction: "Something rare was happening, I requested songs from God... and only it gave me blues". Thus it was as the first songs of the project were born, in form of "delta acoustic blues". As the project was evolving, the influence of the classic rock could not lack, as well as gospel, Texas blues and the piano blues. When finalizing the process to write, JRC occurred to the task of obtaining musicians who mainly shared their taste by the blues and their love to God. "Definitively it was a miracle of God" declared JRC about how it found musicians (including his bass whom knew 10 days before the recording). Their songs, all of Christian subject, are a mixture of the blues in almost all their variations. The primary target of the band is the one to take the message of the Christianity beyond and thus to break with the existing stereotype in Christian music. "The blues was one of the first forms of Christian music in America, today we have occurred to the task of taking it to their original intention" -JRC.
