About Me

...I'm an island...Cameron was born into this thing called life on May 7th, 1986 in Landstuhl Army Hospital, West Germany. His life was to be one of a traveler, as his father was an enlisted sergeant in the U.S. Air Force; his mother also came from a military family, her father also being an Airman. He spent his first year of life in Ramstein Air Base, West Germany, until his father was reassigned to a base located in Washington, D.C. Introduced to his baby sister in 1987 in Maryland, his family relocated in 1990 to the town of Abilene, Texas. Here Cameron would grow up in the friendly, yet sometimes quaint West Texas lifestyle and the Catholic upbringing of his parents. He made lifetime friends and played baseball, even dabbled in band playing trombone for a short period. He had his first kiss, his first smoke of a cigarette, his first school dance and his first crush. He played quarterback on his middle school football team, ran cross country and track, and made his baseball league allstar team. He won his school's geography bee 3 times, and made striaght-A's until his eighth grade year. In his early years he occupied himself with playing nintendo and building endless airplanes and spaceships with his massive lego collection, and watching movies such as star wars, top gun, gremlins; not to mention the endless hours watching looney tunes and ren & stimpy. [If you havent gotten the clue yet, Cameron is somewhat of a nerd] Finishing out his middle school in Texas, his family was again relocated for only a year to the small town of Alamogordo, NM in 2000. Here Cameron continued to excel, again kicking ass in school and playing baseball. Unfortunately, the family was again forced to move, but this time to the island paradise of Honolulu, Hawaii in 2001. Here Cameron felt that he found himself among the laid-back lifestyle that encompasses the spirit of Aloha. Spending 3 years on the island until he graduated High School in 2004, he took up the hobby of bodyboarding and grew his hair to his current style in his senior year. Cameron again excelled, becoming his class treasurer and his national honor society parliamentarian, while also becoming captain of his school's varsity baseball team. He graduated with honors in June 2004....thus ends the first couple of chapters in this journey. Cameron was plagued first by a serious right elbow injury at the end of his senior baseball season, virtually ending his career in the sport. The injury still pains him often today. He was also torn between where to attend college. Most of his life Cameron wanted to go to the Air Force academy, but having realized he would be without television for 2 years he seriously reconsidered his decision. Wanting to stay in Hawaii, he knew that the schools were not as good as those on the mainland, so bit the bullet and decided to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where he now attends classes. The move from Hawaii affected him more than he thought it would, but having realized that Austin was actually pretty bad-ass, he got over his teen angst. Now, Cameron is faced with the crossroads of his life; trying to decide what the hell he is going to do after he finishes school while being a mediocre college student, etc. Going through 2 different majors before, he finally settled on Philosophy as a suitable course of study. Not because of its career potential, but because it was the only thing that really made sense to Cameron. He takes comfort in the fact that he will learn from his current experiences and in the fact that he has kickass friends who he cares about. He also loves music and the scene that Austin has, not to mention the awesome people and get-togethers and goings-on.Overall, Cameron is happy with the life that he has led and wouldn't do anything different...well maybe some minor things but that's ok...and he looks forward to the future and everything he will know and learn and experience and feel and ___________.[end]
