BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE . . . INSIDE AND OUT!!! Oh, and Jill Scott, of course! I just might be her biggest fan ever. I'm not the obsessive stalker type fan though . . . I just own everything she's ever put out: Who Is Jill Scott?, The Experience 826+, Beautifully Human, and her book of poetry. I haven't had the opportunity to go to one of her concerts yet (BOO!!!), but I'M ON IT the first chance I get. Oh, and I'd probably . . . no . . . I'd most certainly give a kidney to sing back-up for her (yes, the kid can work a note or two!). However, if I could meet her, I can die a happy woman, lol. As a poet, I admire her ability to bring words to life and manipulate them in a way that adds color and depth to any given topic she speaks on, be it in a song or a poem. I'm an English major, and I believe that words have only as much power as you give them. In Jill Scott's case, I've never seen a person with that kind of verbal fortitude. The woman is a dynamic artist and a great mind, and I applaud her for maintaining her own style as opposed to becoming absorbed into the mainstream scene in pursuit of the almighty dollar.
