Crying Macho Man

One of the main drives in creating Crying Macho Man came from the racism I experienced growing up as a Latino. Racism is not an easy topic to talk about objectively. We all have been subjected to racism in some form or another (you qualify if you have skin). Even today, with a Master’s Degree level education I still encounter racism.But Crying Macho Man doesn't only deal with racism. It also lets me shed some awareness on the environment, popular culture, social trends and politics. As provocative as the language and imagery might be in my comics, it serves it's purpose in getting ordinary people to think and talk about issues they might not otherwise ponder. As Shakespeare said "Artist are the abstract chroniclers of our times."And remember behind every macho man there's a scared little boy needing to be hugged.Sincerely,Jose aka Crying Macho Man
