Pause CaféIn order to describe Pause Café , you need to understand how the band was formed. It was the result of a longtime friendship between the various members The idea for this record started off in a hotel room in Fukuoka , Japan , february 2001, while touring with Isabelle Antena. One evening , Issy was talking about her lifelong ambitions and how many of them had come true , like being free to make music in the most independent way ... to have her own studio ... to perform in the Blue Note Jazz clubs ... and ultimately , to record a jazz album with her soul mates as a serious band project. No sooner was it voiced , this dream started to become reality. From the beginning , everyone was very enthusiastic and the recording soon got underway. These songs came to fruition in a very loose , jazzy way , although their choice was eclectic , from Star treck' theme to Fellini's Casanova written by Nino Rota, from Gabriel Fauré to Archie Shepp . First they just started by listening to the themes and looking other the scores. Then they simply started playing until they found a sound which everyone liked. The album was recorded life in a week.In many ways Pause Café is not just a project. It's the reunion of like-minded musicians , collaborators and friends. One way or another , they always find each other , like musical soul mates , sharing their passion and friendship. They are often getting together this days , recording in Brussels Caraibes Studio what will be their second album.
