Culture and Sport are more similar than people realize or care to realize. I do not believe professional athletes are overpaid, in fact, they are extremely underpaid when compared to the value they bring to the organization they are contracted to, if you were one you would not settle for less than what you believe you're services to be worth; furthermore I do not hear people bitching about the income employees make in other lucrative industries minus the financial sector of course.
